Today Christopher and I decided to take our Volvo up the hill to Grocery Outlet. On the way down this giant hill I noticed two bicyclist riding behind me. They looked so free and this made me so happy. They were going so fast and by the time we got to the roundabout they had caught up with me, so I looked over and to my surprise I saw my old New Media Studies teacher, Issac, waving and smiling. This made me so happy.

Christopher gave me a Voluspa (my favorite) candle today. He doesn't usually give me random presents so it meant a lot to me. I love him.

I really don't want to be one of those people who post pictures of their cat, and talk about how cute they are all the time, but I freakin can't help it. Bare with me.

Today I took the bus to Yelm. Mariah picked me up and I went to Ashford, which is right near Mt Rainier. We spend the day picking black berries, cooking and talking. It was a great day.

I started my new second job last week. So far its great, everyone seems really positive. I only worked two days last week, but I think I have a good idea what my job will be like. When I'm not working on a graphic design project, or covering the front desk, I'm encouraged to research career options for myself. I was looking through 08s Petersen guides for grad schools. I'm not really wanting to do grad school right now, but its good to prepare for it, just in case its something I choose to pursue. The schools with graphic design programs that jumped out to me were Cal Arts, Yale University School of Art, and School of Art and Design at U of Illinois. This year I'm going to focus on building an impressive portfolio. I think working at the Career Development Center will help me stay on track.

Anyone want to go to church with me? I've pretty much given up on organized religion, but I liked the church Mars Hill and there's one in Olympia now. (http://olympia.marshillchurch.org/) So, anyone wanna check it out?

Last night I saw Damien Jurado for the millionth time and it was probably one of the best sets yet. His new album is so good. I was a little worried because I had heard some things about it being different than his usual stuff, but it is outstanding. The Triple Door is fancy and the sound was really well mixed. Damien played "Great Today", one of my favorite songs. I think I've only heard that song live once before (excluding the time Zeke and I played it for our church talent show, haha!). So it was a great night. It had been ages since Jen, Seth and I went to a concert together. Christopher came too, and was blown away. I'm glad he loved Damien like I do, I told him now he can marry me.

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in all the little things, that I forget that I have a lot of control of my life. A few months ago I went to What the Heck Fest, and it was amazing. While I was there I met a lot of neat people, one of which was Ross. He co-owns bicycle records (http://www.bicyclerecords.com/). We got to chatting about music and life and he figured out that I am a total music nerd and some how got me to admit that I've always wanted to do a label. For some stupid reason I alway felt that I couldn't pursue that because it was my high school boyfriends big dream.

So he invited me over to see the in and outs of running his label and to hang out. It was a great day. I got to know Ross and we worked on a cd cover design for the band the Next door neighbors. I left his house feeling really excited about working with him.

That was late July, and I didn't contact him until today. Im not sure why it took me so long to get in touch with him, I thought about it a lot. I'm guessing it was a mixture of my busy lifestyle but I also, I think deep down I wanted to sabotage it a little, or maybe it was just me being anxious about being around new people.
Anyways, this morning I decided that I needed to stop it. I emailed him, he called me back, and Im going over there on Wednesday.

I love that my mom can not attach a photo to an email to save her life, even though I've walked her through it over 20 times.

Today is Labor day, which means its Grace and Mariahs annual thrift store-athon. New additions, this year we had a special guest, my sweetie Christopher. We also went to Macy's and found nothing but over priced stuffy clothes. Over all though I found some fun things. One of my favorites is a wallet, that has a cute cat on it. It's oddly shaped and red. I also found three pairs of pants! This alone is a miracle because Im tall and chubby with no butt. Christopher wanted to get this tie at Macys but he didn't want to spend 8 dollars, so I snuck downstairs and bought it on our way out. I still have not told him, and he's sitting next to me playing the harmonica. I'll tell him once he reads this post.

[11:17pm Christopher found the tie in my bag after we came back to Olympia. He came into our bedroom wearing it and wearing a grin. Hooray!]
